OK so i have to ask, why would anyone buy a $5 GPU? They come in all the new CPU's and tons of older boards have onboard that is just as good or superior to this card.....

HDMI for HTPC maybe??? Also are you using the term CPU as to describe a complete rig, when a CPU is just a processor? Just asking

He meant that most modern day CPUs have a GPU built in... and pretty much all of said CPU/GPUs are either on par or even more powerful than this G210. This G210 really is for old machines... but even so, not sure why anyone would get this instead of the 6450 for $10AR+$2 shipping that is FP right now... except for that one guy who had compatibility problems with AMD apparently.

I'm going to use this for Mythtv. Linux and AMD video cards don't go well together. I believe Nvidia cards are a much better match.

Every now and then Frys will have passive versions of this card FAR. Usually goes unnoticed mainly due to it being B&M only, check your local frys if you have one. At this price, the AMD deal is far better, neither card is amazing though.

Not really FP worthy......

FYI those who want upgrade old PC with PCI 1.0.

Radeon HD6450 is superior than this card, but it's PCIE 2.1.
Many people are complaining compatibility issue PCIE 2.1 video card on PCIE 1.0 slot.
If that's your case nVidia cards are safer.(nVidia cards ar PCIE 2.0)

100% correct. Not only will this card handle hw accelerated video on Linux and Windows, it supports feature set C of purevideo/vdpau, covering most video formats. I use the fanless version with a 45watt amd cpu, perfect htpc on the cheap. HDMI audio works well too.

The newer Gt610 supports feature set D and hdmi1.4, covering more 3d features.

the geforce 210 a decent start up htpc graphics card but if you want a good load of pre and post processing effects such as denoise and sharpen complex 2 on 1080p ts/tp or even 720p mkv files... it will drop frames. If you are just in it for some pre or post processing, then it is fine.

when looking at MSI's site, I can't find any drivers for Linux (though, I am a linux noob, so perhaps that's not where I'd find them?) -- looking to get a video card for my N40L for XBMC and Audio out (HDMI)...

I'm particularly concerned because one time I didn't pay attention and ended up with a card that needed the extra connector from the PSU. Fortunately I had one sitting in my garage that I'd bought when it was on sale, but now I'm fresh out of spare 450W PSU's sitting around in my garage Wink

im trying to use this card but the nvidia driver installer keeps failing. so now im lost with no idea what to do now, if anyone can i need help.
