General Electric 8000 BTU Energy Star Window Air Conditioner (AEW08LQ) $139 + Free Store Pickup (expired)

Slightly off topic: my parents will leave a 35 year old home to me. It has an attic that one can walk almost upright in and a lined crawlspace. I think its 1500sq ft. With base board heat and 1 lrg. Wall AC unit. Will it be too expensive for me to put central air in or what do people do in my case vs. Buying a 25,000 unit every five years? I know i can get info from Lowes but wanted a few honest, general ideas of what to expect or get as an option. I want to consider tankless h20 heater, also

Saving money for this in a few years.

A central furnace/AC unit will likely last you 20+ years if properly maintained and should save you money in the long run. You will need to insulate the attic if it hasn't been done already. As far as costs, you will need to contact a heating/cooling company in your area for a free estimate. Get at least 3 estimates. Good Luck!

My thoughts exactly....not only did I order one and pay .97 for shipping but it will arrive at my house 4 days earlier than the ship to store.

Both of mine show shipped. I'll be returning my Frigidaires to Lowes today I think now that I know the GE's are coming.
