Color reproduction, contrast, and viewing angles are terrible in all 14" Thinkpads and have been for a long time. The T430 is no different. I will never get one until they use higher quality LCDs.

However this seems like a good decent deal if you want a new Thinkpad.

I think this is a good deal for a Lenovo based on their past pricing; however, I have had 3 hard drive crashes in a year on various Lenovos (X and T series) in our household and am giving up on them. We have cheap ACERs, HP's, and Dells and never a problem. This is far from a TC; it's just the build quality does not seem to be what it used to be. Back it up if you get one.

not sure if "HD+" means IPS though...my x230 showed "Premium HD" option for the IPS

Decent deal but not entirely smoking, configured to the same level as 7/18/12 and today's price is about $30 more. I have to say the T430 is a joy to use though, at first I thought I won't be able to stand the new keyboard but boy am I wrong.

To me PRO is worth the extra money.. But then again i hate windows 7 and I would most likely downgrade to XPPor 2k3EE
