GMG's capsule client is basically a virus/trojan. You shouldn't bother buying anything from them that isn't on steam. Also, they never state what DRM their games use except steam games so it could well have securom and you'd never know. Games they've given away free in the past have.

Care to be more specific why you think it is a virus/trojan?

Edit: I'll still grab it since it means a small trade in credit and another Voucher Code even if I never download the software.

It's very buggy and they install 3rd party DRM such as securom if games use it w/o telling you or informing you anywhere that it'd going to be installed. I mentioned this as a problem to a representative of theirs who came on SD when the first promo came out w/necrovision that was sort of when they first got started. Anyway, they never fixed it. It's fine to get it for trade-in credit if you want, but I don't trust anything from them that can't activate on steam.


steam, gog (goodoldgames - yup, came first and gmg decided to pick a similar name to make people think they're the same company I guess or something), gamersgate, amazon, getgamesgo are all pretty reliable.

i've had nothing but good experiences with GMG myself, and their customer service has treated me quite well inthe past. i may not install the game, who knows, but i'll sure as heck let them give it to me for free!

The site struggled a bit to process the transaction but it definitely downloads fast once started.

Usually they do within a few weeks; the recent freebies are still stuck on 50 cents so that may be the new trend...

Never had an issue in the past. I've had issues with gog games being almost unplayable, but never gmg.
