Its supposed to be a back to school special. Besides, I wouldn't want to give a free haircut to my screaming 2 year old for free either.

All August long kids in grades K through 6 can get a free haircut at JCPenney salons. You should call your location to make sure they’re participating. Some will require an appointment and others will allow walk-ins.

You can't schedule haircut appointments online; you'll need to call your JCPenney salon, and tell them at the time you make the appointment you're a JCPenney rewards member. Keep in mind, this offer is only valid for appointment times in AUGUST!

More than likely, I'm guessing JCPenney will try to have you schedule a follow-up haircut. Even if you do schedule a 2nd appointment, as long as you cancel your appointment within 24 hours of your next appointment [don't quote me on their cancellation policy, inquire the appointment cancellation policy while at the salon] you shouldn't have to pay anything for your second appointment.

With that said, I think tipping would be a kind gesture even though the haircut is free.
