It'll work at least on Sunday. It's possible that it'll work on Monday and Tuesday, but I don't have too much experience with the 5/50 coupons on that. Anyone have personal experience on that?

If previous weeks are any indication, then it will probably work. Getting an extra day or two out of the 10% coupon is a little less certain in my mind since it's a special program discount. Regardless, I'll be in there on 8/19 trying to push the $5 off $50 and 10% through, monetizing $40 Rewards coupons with yet another batch of photo paper. shake head

The short answer is yes. My husband is a NYC special education teacher. This is why I always follow the back to school deals so closely. I try and get what we can to stock his room and also help other teachers. We also have a son in elementary school and we help out two families . . . The supply lists many kids get could make your head spin. One of the children literally needs one of each size of every self close bag ever made -- sandwich, quart, gallon and the jumbo 2.5 one made by Hefty . . .

When I met my husband 11 years ago he got I want to say $150 each year towards classroom supplies (AKA Teacher's Choice). It barely made a dent in what we spent on basics like glue and construction paper . . . Many schools give out one box of chalk to a teacher in the fall. Slowly NYC reduced Teacher's Choice to zero. There is talk that they might get a small amount for the 2012/13 school year.

My husband even takes our 7 year son's old clothing to school. Many of his students do not toilet and have accidents. Many parents don't send in supplies or extra sets of clothing . . . For summer school they had a budget of $125 to buy wipes, disposable bed chucks and diapers because parents don't send in those either.

Sorry for the rant. Off to type up more of the ad . . . It is not a very exciting week.

Haven't stepped foot in a Staples store in 3 weeks. From the looks of it it may be 5 but then only to recycle carts for August. Small MMs barely pay for the gas there and back. Have enough ream paper from first 3 weeks and even then donated some school supplies to my neighbor who works in a low income school.
