Amazon [amazon.com] is selling the La Crosse Technology BC-700 Alpha Power Battery Charger for $26.69 which is $0.24 cheaper than when it was on Tues in this thread.

As it happened that my charger had died a few days after that last deal and have been keeping an eye for price drop. Not sure if I should create new thread or not, but went ahead anyway.

I ordered one recently and when I do the charge test, instead of getting mAh I see --- and it changes to say "discharge test" and the timer seems to stop. Can't find anything in the manual or online. Can somebody tell me what I'm missing?

short answer: the included 'free' charger is just timer based. it does not know where the battery started and it does not monitor current or temperature. its not 'smart'.

I've seen it go both ways. IMO a new lower price after a period where the item had been unavailable at the previous price = new deal.
