4 boys at home, this stuff is nice, especially for sports clothing. I don't really notice an overwhelming scent, but it does make the clothes smell better. If my teenage step son does his laundry and leaves the lid closed after and we don't catch it, even a good cleaning cycle won't necessarily get rid of the smell. This stuff is also helpful for that.

If you don't see a need for it, don't buy it, but obviously many do. Some people also just like a nice scent on their clothes when they get out of the washer. I used to buy this stuff at SAMS, but they seem to all have stopped carrying it around me. I'll grab some from here. Thanks OP.

They dont really need to smell awful to get this, even with regular clothes you get a real fresh scent that do make a difference, at least for some who like it!

Lush is OOS but I got the other one. I've used both and they both smell good but the purple one smells better IMO. My husband just bought some for $8 at CVS this weekend - regular price but I really needed some for some funky smelling workout clothes. I make my own detergent without scents so sometimes this is nice to throw in with funky smelling clothes. I use it in an HE front loader with no problems. Thanks op!

I've honestly never had clothes still smell bad after a wash. This all seems weird to me. The only purpose I can see this helping me out is the cat bed that my cat decided to pee on.

If I like the scent, will try a drop or so in the car so I can toss the air fresheners that make me nauseous

And clothes don't need to smell bad to use fabric softener/scent boosters. Sometimes you just want a nice smell in your sheets/towels/shirts

i tried the cheaper Purex Crystals (for the laundry), and thought it was just OK. didn't think it was that much better than Tide with Febreze.
