Thanks for the heads up. This one does not have stabilization though according to one review on amazon. i would like to sell my 18-55 since I never use it anymore.

Last time they had this deal I got the 30mm f/1.4 and love it. The order was shipped promptly and arrived in a few days. The lens itself is a great little lens. I shoot with a crop body and it is a perfect walk around lens. I'm very tempted with the 85mm f/1.4. I've tried that lens and it is also a great lens for portraits.

It looks to me that having relatively fast (I wish it was f/1.8) relatively wide lens with great high ISO performance of NEX cameras stabilization is not that critical.

How would I test the 30mm 1.4 for Canon if I got a good copy? This will be my next prime lens after the nifty fifty. Still learning about the camera.

I'm thinking about this for my Canon Rebel T2i. I have kit 18-55, 70-300 and 50 mm 1.8. Thinking about buying one good all round lens for more casual photography. Will this fit the bill??? Any suggestions.. Thanks in advance.

Canon 50 1.4 or Sigma 50 1.4? Beach Camera has the Canon for $344, or I can get the Sigma here for $399. Sigma has the longer warranty and better build quality, but Sigma has the infamous AF issues.

Sigma 17-50 is tremendous lens. It'll replace 18-55 in all ways. Also this is a very good price normally only seen twice a year on this lens. If you are on the fence, just go for it.

Also while 17-50 is a good all round lens, it's not the only one. Canon 15-85mm is also an amazing lens which you can find for around $600 during refurbished sales and on some forums. But you'll be happy with Sigma 17-50 as it is a fast lens and great color reproduction.

Just send your sigma lens with body to sigma center and it'll come back tack sharp. Canon doesn't have real USM on their 50mm f/1.4.
