Yeah i've been waiting for another $15 mobo for an htpc build but this z77 works. I haven't found any deals on anything good in months. Thiis is overkill for an htpc but its only $40 or so more than what I can find lately. Hopefully i wont be kicking myself on Monday when the *real* newegg laborday deals are out.

Yeah, I am in the same boat as you...been waiting for that ECS $15 MB again...that was a great deal and they all worked perfect for me.

I used the ECS for building rigs to sell.

This ASRock I want for my own personal rig.

Kinda happy I landed it.

Looking now at the Fry's Intel Core i5-3570 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz combo deal, but it doesn't look all that good...the price is still too high I think.

I have an asus z68 motherboard with my ivy 3570k. There any improvements in z77 over z68 ?

Edit: I googled it. No changes of any significance. Native USB 3.0, that is all.

This mobo was a great deal at relatively normal prices!

Everything connected runs at full speed, 4.6 GHz OC (auto OC software preset for the 2600k actually mimics well known OC settings from reputable OC communities, surprisingly), super fast boot up time, bundled software actually is useful, high quality on board sound and LAN chips, and USB 3.0 headers for my new case. Had everything I could ask for. Was my favorite upgrade over my old system's MSI C45-770.

I have the z68 extreme3, great little motherboard.

Does anyone have any experience with this board and the Gigayte GA-Z77X-UD3H? I trying to decide which of the two to get. Thanks.
