I feel it is important to note for all of us who purchased the Drive that a firmware update is needed for TRIM to function properly on this Drive.
This is Critical Information for any User to get maximum performance from the Drive they are purchasing.
Anyone who wants to edit feel free and post link to evidence that this Drive comes with properly functioning TRIM. I purchased 4 of these and would love for this not to be true, but I cannot find any evidence to the contrary.
This Information can be found @ Sandisk Forums & Tweaktown.
http://forums.sandisk.
Today we're re-testing the SanDisk Extreme 240GB SSD with the new 5.0.3 firmware that fixes TRIM and keeps the drive running at extreme speeds. Like many Team SandForce manufacturers, SanDisk is not releasing 5.0.3 to the general public. A very small issue was found in 5.0.3, but 5.0.4 will fix the issue and we have confirmation that 5.0.4 will be ready for your flashing pleasure in less than a month.

More Evidence that TRIM is broken on these Drives:
http://www.tweaktown.c
I purchased 4 of these Drives and will be sitting on them until Firmware update is available.
After extensive research Sandisk has no official response to the issue to date.
Not even reply post on their Forum, so do not expect anything too soon.
Cancelled 2 of my Drives. It seems that Sandisk is going to be one of the last Manufacturers to release new Firmware.
Can sit on two Drives for a month or more, but 4 is out of the question.
Also found out for those who intend to use Drive immediately it is best to secure erase before flashing new firmware.
Still a great price for a Toggle NAND 240GB Drive.
UPDATE:
After going round & round with 1st level Support @ Sandisk I was finally give the phone # for the Manager in CA Area code 408- 801-xxxx
Extreme Drive Case # 1152xxx [Incident:120xxx-xxx312]
Just got off the Phone with the Manager Of Technical Support @ Sandisk. They know the TRIM is broken & they are working on new Firmware.
They are going to call me back with update as to release date.
He also stated that flashing through toolkit will not harm Data so those that are using the drive are fine.
I will post the results.
Update:
"New Firmware based on 5.0.4 should be available before the end of the month."
This is direct from the Manager of Technical Support 09/09/12
Update:09/12/12
Sandforce now has released 5.0.5 Firmware Versions
This may delay Sandisk release!!
Going to call again tomorrow.
Update9/19/12
No return call from Manager of Tech Support. Going to rattle his cage tomorrow so we can use these Drives.
The Black Box makes a nice Paper weight, but enough is enough release the Firmware!!!!!!!
Update 9/20/12
After talking with Tech Support IMHO SANDISK could give a rats A about Customer who purchased defective Drive.
They indicated as long as uniformed Consumers keep buying them, they are in no hurry to fix them.
When Sales slow down on this Product maybe you will see some action, but the attitude I encountered there is no sense of urgency.
If you hope to use your Drive in the next Month I would forget it @ this point.
It could be October or even early November before we see anything positive from Sandisk.
I would suggest bombarding Tech Support with Phone Calls.

Update 10/01/12
Sandisk has been stalling with new Firmware. There is talk on Sandisk Forum that new Firmware may cause other problems with the Drive and a fix may not be possible.
If you are still sitting on the Drives and have not installed them.
Let Craigslist or Ebay be your friend and move on to a Drive with full functionality.
Otherwise you could be using a Drive that will never function properly.

yuugotserved always has great deals.
Yep, One of my laptops takes a 7mm but I took the rubber sleave off the old drive and did not put it back on the new drive. Fits perfect!
I think this is the one that was new stock at AMAZON and had the current FW on it! I hope Neweeg stock is the same.So far two of these, Intel 330, and Plex deals and all work great.

would it fit in that laptop?
I have the Samsung we all bought at Staples and the Dell 101z at Newegg and it will fit those laptops.

Is there a way to install a new ssd to make in work in unison with the old ssd so the computer thinks it's just one ssd? Also, never did figure out this, but how many times can this ssd read/write (or is that a pretty much an old issue)?
*edit* Also, I think I distinctly remember doing some type of an update for the Sandisk Extreme (I think, memory is failing me right now) before I installed OS on it. Hopefully someone else could either confirm or correct me,
