In easy to understand terms, what is the difference between the PureONE and classic filters (besides color and price)?

When I select "Pick up at store" I am presented a list of my area stores, but they all say "Call Store" for availability and I cannot select them or proceed with my order. Does this mean they don't have stock?

Is there a way to get this price ($20 for 6, plus tax) when purchasing in-store?

Probably a YMMV based on the filter you need and the local stock. Shipping really kills this.

Good deal! PureONEs are superlative filters. The only thing keeping me from buying 3 for my car and 3 for the wife's car is that I use full synthetics and do 10000 mile oil changes - who knows what might happen between now and the next two years for either of our cars?

The PureONE filters better, trapping more particles. The Classic is less efficient at trapping the tiniest particles, but flows better.

For most cars, the Classic is all you need. For vehicles that use very low viscosity oil (0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30) and are just driven normally, the PureONE is a good choice.

You could also use the $10 off $30 coupon to buy 8 of the Classic filters at $3.99, total would be $2.74/ea plus tax.

Unfortunately for this deal, most Advance Auto Parts only stock a few of each filter, so unless you live near a really big one, it can be tough to get more than one or two of the same filter when buying online. You can mix/match the Classic and PureONEs though.

I got the same issue. Did a search for PL15436, the filter I need, it shows up for $5. Add 6 to cart, comes up to $57 and change with the coupon code. Go back to the PL15436 page, and now they're showing up as $12.99, the normal price.

Advance Auto seems to be competing with Sears to see who can design the worst website.

If the store shows "Call Store" then they don't have enough quantity in stock

Classic vs PureOne -- both are good filters, but PureOne filters are designed to last longer so they're built with better quality parts. Classic filters are good for regular oil changes (if you change it 3k-5k miles) and P1's are good for semi-syn or syn oil (if you change oil 6k-8k miles)

I do 7,500 mile OCIs on my daily driver, but normally swap the filter at about 3,500 miles. Doesn't hurt, and on my car (uses a canister filter) I don't have to worry about losing any oil during the change. Course, I knock out 35-40,000 miles a year, so it adds up.

Here's a little tip I just discovered. Apparently you can split your order between two stores. I have one right down the road from my employer and one near home. I was able to get 4 at one and 2 at the other by adding them to my cart separately.

^that's a video at the inside of a pure1. it traps more contaminants.
the classic one has less surface area and made of a cheaper paper. the pure1 is meant for longer oil change intervals like 7,500 miles but u have to use synthetic oils. while the classic is used for the 3000-5000mile intervals.
