I got my MX Brown today and I like it. I was using a Corsair K60, but I kept having the known issues even after a few RMAs so Corsair is refunding my money on that. To me the Brown is no louder than the Red and I like the feel of the keys much better. I might do the o-ring mod as well to quiet them down a little bit.

I got my keyboard yesterday as well, with browns, and so far I'm really digging it. It is definitely a lot louder than my previous keyboard, but it does feel really solid and well made. I feel like my typing speed has increased, but that may just be because the keyboard sounds like there's more going on now. Definitely satisfied with my purchase so far, though I do miss the semi ergonomic layout of my Logitech Wave keyboard. I'm still adjusting to the keyboard, but I think it's safe to say that I'm sold on mechanical keyboards now, and without having anything to compare against, I think that the MX Browns were the right option for me.

I also tested out the speakers that came with this, and they seem to be pretty good, though a bit on the chintzy side. There's no volume knob, or even an on/off button, which is kind of a pain if you're planning on running them off of batteries instead of usb. Still though, they sound great for free speakers, and definitely are better than any portables I've had before.

When running the speakers off of batteries I discovered you have to unplug the AUX cord for it to turn off which should save our batteries. I just tested my speaker this morning as well and it's not amazing, but it will be good for use at work.

So has anyone had any experience trying to return this bundle? I did and they tried to tell me that I can't send the speaker back so they want to deduct $22 from my refund. Effectively forcing me to keep the speaker and pay for it.

That is a load of crap. Nowhere on the website did it say that the speaker is not returnable. I'm fuming mad. Any thoughts on this?

That is ridiculous...Newegg's customer service is complete crap now. Many years ago they would bend over to make a customer happy. Not it's all about the money. I would continue to complain and ask for a supervisor. Do not take someone's word as saying that they spoke with their supervisor and they can't do anything. You have to demand that you want to actually speak with one.

Also, did you not like the keyboard itself or specific switch that you ordered?

I will give Newegg credit here. After a couple of emails they not only agreed to give me a full refund minus restocking fee, as they should have from the start, but they also offered a prepaid return label. So I'm satisfied now.

As for the keyboard, I bought this and the Cooler Master mechanical from Officemax. I actually like the Rosewill better but the smaller CM keyboard footprint (no number pad) is a better fit for my keyboard drawer.

I'm also a little gun shy about the Rosewill because of all the problems people have reported WRT the USB failing.
