Pleat and cuffs are no longer "in style" with current generation.
Neither are some other things...like work ethic, manners, etc.

If you prefer the style of the day flat front w/o cuffs is ideal.
I own both. I prefer a classic look for formal occasions (including work) and cuffless flat fronts out at night.
I just think its laughable that people think the style of the day is going to be that way forever. Your parents spoke that way about the roomy leg room of bell bottoms.
Anybody entering the work force these days would be best suited to buy flat front, uncuffed pants.
I'm not a stodgy old guy either. I do have to dress nice on occasion, when I go to court or meet clients, but pleats on me look like I'm wearing MC Hammer pants. No thanks.
Cuffs are still cool though. I wouldn't wear them all the time, but I have a traditional streak in me. Shoes gotta match the cuffs though.
