A few Amazon reviews makes it sound like these are extremely slow if that's of concern to you.

I need one of these bad but the mall by my house doesn't have them and even though there is a mall right off the freeway on my way home from work its not worth the hour hour it would add to my commute. Only a couple bucks more on amazon/newegg.

Yes, but the newegg deal requires submitting a rebate. You are also limited to one at that price.

I bought one of these last year for $10, which was a great deal at that price, and it has worked great for me since. I run a lot of stuff off it through my Xbox and HTPC without any hiccups or problems. And it's actually faster than my other 16GB thumb drive, which is painfully slow. Keep in mind that with a USB 3.0 thumb drive, you'll still need a USB 3.0 port to take advantage of faster speeds - for the average Joe, this drive should be more than sufficient. And I think it's a pretty fair price.

if you're talking about faster speeds of USB 3 then yes obviously. but the chips designed to work with USB 3 is inherently faster and USB 3 is backward compatible with USB 2 -- so putting them together, you'll still gain faster speed with USB 2.

A 16gb usb 2.0 thumb drive -- and a relatively slow one even for that -- for 7.50 + tax & requiring in store pickup.

Uh ... no thanks. Rated +10 as I write this?!? Not a BAD deal, but I can't comprehend why anyone thinks it "hot."
