Just got my deal alert...

Very good price, but after doing some research, I'm holding off to buy the whispure air purifier. Though I haven't owned one of these, people say that they tend to be loud. Still seems like a good unit though

I was about to jump until I saw it is HEPA-Type not True-HEPA. Thanks though.

Edit: I see most of the air purifiers are either Hepa-Type / Hepa-Grade not a true Hepa. Still confused. Should I buy this or anyone have other good suggestions ??

These small air purifiers are usually Hepa-Type. According to the expert reviewer I've linked, this is the best of small Hepa-Type air purifiers. I'm planning to use this in my office at work which is small.

True-Hepa air purifiers are the most effective but more expensive especially when you take into account the filter replacement costs. I would suggest Sharp Air Purifier which I currently use at home as the filter is rated to last two years and it is relatively quiet. The replacement filter, however, is about $100 which is almost the price I paid for the air purifier.

I don't have many allergy issues, but I feel like the down from my down comforter is occasionally floating through the air. I have a 144 sq ft. room. Will getting something like this make a noticeable difference, since the down is rather large? I'm sure the down is larger than the dust particles mentioned in the expert review. tia!

The HHT-011 provides for 3-stage filtration (pre-filter screeen, filter and ionizer). I think the down would stick on the pre-filter screen which you could subsequently wash or vacuum.

yeah, but basically, you gotta buy a real hepa to get stuff under 2 microns. which are expensive.
Hepa type/ all filters labeled permanent, let the really small stuff through so you can clean it.
If your bothered by the really small stuff, this ain't for u, and you should buy a full size hepa w/ filters.
Also, permement doesn't mean no maintence. You still need to clean it.
Sadly, there's no permanent Hepa, and probably won't ever be, so you'll be stuck buying filters forever.

The pre-filter screen is washable but the filter itself should be vacuum now and then.

Just comparing specs, I think the HHT-011 is better. The Honeywell version has a pre-filter to catch the bigger debris before the air goes through the filter. The benefit is that your filter doesn't get clogged as fast. It also has an optional ionizer which is lacking in the Hamilton Beach model. And of course, the HHT-011 is currently cheaper.

Looking for something to get rid of littler box smell in the laundry room there is NO ventilation in there and sometimes it almost takes your breath away when you open the door. Anyone know if this would help with little box smell... Or have a suggestion on something that would :-) thanks... OH BTW getting rid of the cats is not an option wife is kinda attached :-)
