For example, I added 3x "4-pk Duracell Rechargeables StayCharged AA Batteries" to my cart. The first was $6.65. Second and third were $9.65.
Alternately, Woot sellout [woot.com] today has 12 AAA Duracell Staycharged for $12.99 + $5 shipping for $1.50 per battery.
If you need a charger, Drugstore.com has a 15 minute charger + 4 AA Batteries for $13.99 with stacking coupons for new customers.

edit: If you clip the coupon, and get to the end of checkout without buying it, Amazon still considers the coupon used. I just screwed myself because I backed out of a pack of AAs due to shipping and now can't get the AAAs.

Certainly a good deal given the price.
Also wouldn't worry too much about white top/black top, the Eneloop/white tops are better but in my experience only marginally so.

White tops are what you don't wear after labor day.
Even Eneloops don't last as long as my battery packs on Xbox controllers, although over time, a good pack will lose its efficiency.
