The XFX card that was $9.99 often has common complaints of the fan being overly loud, as well as having rebate issues. Other cards have reviews of incompatible drivers, obselete chipsets, cards burning up because of no fans, etc.
This card is absolutely perfect and I will be picking it up.
EDIT: I ordered the card Tuesday and received it on Thursday. Extremely quick shipping on Newegg's part.
As background I run a 2.13 ghz core 2 duo with 4GB RAM, running windows 7 x64, and currently have an ATI Radeon 2400 (not sure if it is the pro or XT, but it comes with only 1 DVI out.
Installed the card, computer booted right up with it. First thing I did was went to MSI web site and downloaded the latest driver.
I connected both my computer (DVI) and my TV (HDMI) to the computer. Both showed up with 1080p resolution. I made a dumb mistake and thought the computer had frozen at the desktop, but then I realized it was just extending the desktop off the primary screen (TV). Set the video card to duplicate and everything was perfect.
Seems to be just as silent as my previous fanless card.
Windows Experience Index (WEI) previously was 3.9 desktop graphics, 5.3 gaming graphics. Now it reads 4.5 desktop graphics, 6.1 gaming graphics.
Not a huge difference, but love being able to connect both my TV and computer monitor at the same time now.
I realize the item is now out of stock, but thought people could use it for info in the future. I'm really glad I got this card as opposed to XFX or Zotac where I would be playing rebate and overheating roulette.
It works well but underpowered for HTPC if you want to real time deinterlace / denoise 1080i (it can do one or the other but not both). Also, older dell monitors do NOT work with the card. I tried both a dell 2007fpw and my 2405fpw simply do NOT turn on. My dell 2412m however had no problems (tried on both dvi and hdmi, vga worked fine). I called MSI about this and its actually a problem at AMD's end and there is no firmware update planned to fix it.
If you have an older dell monitor you may want to google your model & 6450 to try to avoid a headache.
I never missed one
Any info?
