That hoover windtunnel was rated number 1 in the most recent Consumer reports review (march 2012).
That said, they did not review the Dyson DC40 or DC41 (or any of the current gen dysons as far as I can tell)
It works great on carpet and hardwood/tile floors. I use the extension to clean my fans and baseboards without bending or stretching. Great buy, not regretting it for a second.

They reviewed the bagless DC41 and it came in like 24th.. They said the DC28 was much better. I'm not sure how that can be.. Maybe this link will work:

I love my DC41 animal. I bought it from the same vendor last month though for about $60 more though =/ I do hope they will price match their new listing. I have sent them an inquiry for this. If not I wonder if ebay buyer protection will help at all with this...

I bought the hoover and broke twice on me, got it fixed and sold it on craigslist I am sure it was a bad apple but I went and got a dyson last time Target clearanced off the last model. Went off consumer reports suggestion.
