Whatever you do, don't be a dumbass and use water [imgur.com] to apply it. And yes, that is an iPhone 5.

Also, there's really no good reason to put one of these protectors on. Not only does it not make your screen look better (in fact, it'll probably look a lot worse if you don't apply it perfectly, and the protector will scratch relatively easily), but you don't need to because the glass on the front will not scratch even if you try.

However, I'm all for matte screen protectors, since they not only drastically reduce the amount of fingerprints you see, but they also reduce glare, and they actually make the surface that you slide your finger on feel much better/smoother. Glass (as well as traditional, glossy screen protectors) can get a little grippy sometimes, but that doesn't seem to happen with matte protectors.

I've been saying the same thing all along. Then after 1 week with my iPhone 5, I caught 3 scratches on the front glass. I keep it in a velvet sleeve and baby it. I never put it in the same pocket as any other items. I even make sure to wipe down the pocket it's going into before I put it in. I never dropped it or anything. I barely touched it. And it still got scratched somehow in 1 week.

Very disappointing.

Yeah, that is disappointing, but I really don't know how that happened. I have a matte protector on the front, but no other protection otherwise, and the back two glossy pieces still have no scratches at all, even though they're supposed to be less resistant than the front. And I don't baby it nearly as much as you seem to do.

I guess all those tests that show it being abused in a bag of keys and nails and coming out scratchless don't properly simulate what goes on in a pocket.
