FWIW I purchased these less than a year ago as a 4-pack. Like a previous review stated there was no packing material inside the box and one arrived with a broken sprayer. For the price I figured 3 out of 4 was still very good. Well, was screwing around at our clamback Saturday and tried one out. The contents dribbled out of the can. I grabbed the broken one and tried the other nozzle on it ... nothing. In hindsight buying very cheap fire extinguishers is probably not the smartest thing anyways. I would stay away from these, I am sure some work as advertised but do you really want to find out otherwise at the exact wrong time?

Hey 3hrs, just an FYI about your insurance

If the amount of the fire damage is less than the value of the car, your Insurance Company will repair the damage to your vehicle, this repair will not alter the type of title you have on your car. You only get a salvaged title if the damage to your car is greater than the value of the vehicle and the insurance company considers it a total loss. If you purchased the "totaled" vehicle back from the insurance company and repaired it, you would then have a salvaged title.

I bought this the last time and somewhere in the shipping process the packaging was punctured as was one of the cans. This exploded the foam everywhere and the shipper (I think it was USPS but it might have been UPS) bagged it for me, wet box, punctured can and all. Might be worth it to get one of the more expensive, nicer solutions.

Neighbor had a grease fire during a social, ran to get her traditional and long expired extinguisher which did not work as you might expect. I grabbed one of these and it put the fire out in about 2 seconds, we were all very impressed.

One down side is that I hardly got to use the extinguisher and it probably needs to be chucked now that I have broken the tab.

I'd think your neighbor would offer to replace it - here is her opportunity eh?

Thanks, in for 2. Won't do any good for a lot of the year here (they won't work when frozen), but it won't affect them once thawed (per the manufacture).

Aside from the hideous low quality, they are damn near useless when it comes to actually putting out a fire. For kitchen grease fires, putting the lid on the pan or a box of baking soda is far more effective. Kinda funny in the demos that the guy is using the ABC extinguisher wrong - too close and either waives it over or blows the oil out of the pan.

Illegal to sell in California and many other states. http://osfm.fire.ca.gov/informati...Foamer.pdf. Get a proper fire extinguisher and know how to use it. Class K is what you want for the kitchen, btw not the ABC they keep showing in their staged demos on youtube.

Just got mine. Is the date on the bottom the manufacture date or the expiration?
