How do these compare to the Kayanos? The Kayanos are the only the only shoe I've ever worn that don't hurt my knees from impact since im about 225lbs. Unfortunately the arch is too big for me so it kills my arches. I need a flatter version of the same shoe. Do you think thats what this shoe is?

Also, how does the sizing compare to the Kayanos?

That would depend on the shoe and the runner. As a heavier runner doing marathons, I need the extra cushion and support. I can do a short 5 mile run in my minimalist shoes, but regular runs longer than that would beat up my joints too much.

Also, the Born to Run minimalist shoes are $99 - hardly cheap

I do the same with Kayano's and NB shoes. Luckily, they do have my size.

It looks to be the NB equivalent to Kayanos (the best Asics available). Lots of support and features. Looks cushy too.

depends on whether or not you want cushioning. They are totally different.

I've done two full marathon's in the New Balance 1260's... One last-year, and one this year.
I started with the NB1225, then the NB1226, and then the NB1260.

When I first tried the NB1260, I was in love... they felt like my feet were on clouds. That was last-year.

Fast-forward to this year... Went thru a pair of *new* NB1260's in 2-months... Another pair wore down in ONE month... Thankfully I had purchased them from RoadRunnerSports (albeit at a much higher price than $60), and was able to return them... The first pair I attributed to being defective. After the second pair wore down (even FASTER), not sure if the shoes have a defect, or if my running style simply changed.

In any event, this is a great price on a great (or at least was great) shoe.

BUT... if you are serious about running (or jogging or walking), just because this is a great shoe, it *might* not be a great shoe *for you*. It's a stability-plus shoe... provides some limited arch support. If you have a high-arch, it's NOT the shoe for you (you'd want a neutral shoe).

Hate to be a negative Nelly on this, but for me this is not a good deal when I can go to the annual sale they have near me and buy top of the line shoe at the same price better quality. Sorry, but this deal is not even close for me!

I love this place. If you live near one of their outlet stores (usually in outlet malls) they have some amazing deals.

Also, some of their shoes are actually made in the USA. How great is that! American made shoes! When you get a shoe model number that feels wonderful, stock up because they are only in production for a limited time and then discontinued. I don't why, but I love their mens 760 model and they are not made anymore.
