For hardcore gamers, these sensors might not be the (droids) you're looking for.

Personally I'm in the market for a 85% fingertip grip 15% claw grip mouse (those are percentage of the time I use the grips) and none of these will make me bite based on the sensors. I'm trying to find a nice balance of sensor + no accel/prediction + GRIP, not big and bulky. Think Salmosa.
BST's mouse is super popular and people are jizzing in their pants about it but it's not out until next year. Preorders supposedly before christmas.

Quote : This architecture does not or hasn't provided 1:1 linear tracking within it's rated specification window of 150 IPS. If you are seeking accurate point A to point B movement, look else where until the manufacturer corrects the hardware or ROM. Otherwise the accel curve is within 5% of its linear range.

Quote : - Low cost solution. This sensor is meant to fit the price point gaps in the lower end range of mice. - The sensor is very weak. I would personally rate this as a 1000 CPI sensor at best. Tracking quality becomes easily distorted at early CPI steps due to a very small image array pushing a mere 2.4 megapixels a second. - no Angle snapping - Lift off distance varies by surface, circuit design, LED, and if desired, specific parameters set via firmware. Based on the way light refracts off the manufacturers official lens, the lift off distance is typically at least 3mm on a darker surface assuming proper configuration in terms of compatibility and quality of the tracking. - CPI isn't calculated on a 1:1 ratio. In reality, the 1000 CPI step follows the processing limitations of a 1250 CPI sensor. Max IPS is increased though. |

Mods, should I not put that kind of information in the wiki and keep it to my post? danx
Some sensors have peculiar jitters with cloth but not on hard surfaces. I've been googling since I want to get off this horrible razer tron mouse and get onto something better. I've had a salmosa before but it's squeaky so I'm researching a lot and well, I mean could you tell if there's acceleration and prediction on a blind mouse test? Probably not.
Would you care about prediction and built in acceleration before you buy a mouse to game for FPS's? Yes.

You're better off buying a mouse that fits your grip style than buying another mouse just for the sensor. I had a G9x which was awful for me because I just couldn't stand the grip which tired out my hand way too quickly.
My point is that in the real world, you really shouldn't be making purchases based on sensor issues that most likely you will never notice. Make your purchase based on comfort, price, features.

I just don't want you misleading people that the hardware is all identical.

And your comparison of MP3 to FLAC if they're both free is apples to oranges. We're not comparing a free G400 to a free M90. We're comparing a 35 dollar G400 to a 29 dollar M90.
I can see it being a problem in competitive FPS but I might just pick this up for the extra buttons for Guild Wars 2 given the low price
