I'm looking to upgrade my 6770 with something in the $200-$250 range any recommendations?

I was too, but it was going to cost a $100 more. The best price I have seen on a 7950 was $279 for an XFX. (50% more cost for a 15% improvement). The games will be on sale for $5-10 in no time.

7950 hands down, when OC it almost as powerful as a 680. Not to mention it has a high OC, at least 10%.

7950 will cost 314ish after tax and before rebate. Subtracting rebate 20, selling the 3 games for 50, you're looking at 244ish for one of the best video cards. Not to mention the latest drivers increase the overall performance of the 7950 by 7%. Price to performance, nothing beats the 7950.

Before anyone starts slamming me saying i'm an AMD fanboy, if nvidia had the same Price to performance I would praise them too.

I had to change my thumbs up to a thumbs down on this deal after reading about all the black screens and capacitor issues this model was having.

Was gonna jump on it initially but can't after reading about the horrible RMA support from Sapphire.

Thanks and reps, do you think this card may go between $200-$250 anytime soon or for Black Friday? I'm not in a rush to replace my card so can wait for a deal...

10? Try closer to 50%. My 7950 can do 1200/1900, up from 800/1200 stock. They can pretty much all hit 1100 core with very little voltage increase and well over 25% overclocks on the memory. The fact that mine is 50%/58% is excellent. I run it as 1200/1800 since 1900 is cutting it close to the 1930MHz memory limit where I get an occasional artifact in the latest games. Great cards, and dead silent under load with any decent air cooler.

Of course, this is only good for just barely sustaining 60fps on my single 30" screen at native and max detail and I think 8x anti aliasing. More than one monitor, it would drop down. I haven't tried the new drivers yet. Turning off fsaa is only good for getting into the 70fps level. 1920x1200 I was seeing closer to 150fps.

It's at this price point right now if you sell the games, you do take the initial 315 (with CA tax) dollar hit though. Lowest I seen was 275 after rebates + 3 games.

The value of the 7950 lies in its overclocking. Overclock it and it will be much faster than an overclocked 7870. For those who don't overclock, 7870 for $185 is a sweet deal though.

With latest drivers, HD7870 is nipping on the heels of GTX660Ti for only $185. Not bad.

You can create a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner. You can lower it to 1% if you want but you'll fry the card. If you want a silent gaming card, only fanless cards would work. Also, do you play without sound? There is no way you'll hear this GPU even at 40% fan speed if you play videogames with sound on in your living room, sitting 6-10 feet away from where HTPC connects to the TV.
