I had to set the low pass filter extremely low on this thing to get them to blend at all with my Klipsch RB-75 speakers at my desk. I haven't found anything but sealed subs to blend in seamlessly when using speakers located near-field, or using a 35hz low pass.
You can use either a single rca cable, a dual cable, or a single cable with a Y/splitter. I initially had only a single rca running to each sub, and I later added a Y to the end of each. This technically should give you more output, but I can't really tell a difference.
My subs arrived double-boxed and were in pristine condition.

That said, Just FYI - $299 with FS/no tax at newegg seems regular every 6-10 weeks they'll put it at this price - Ive also never seen it lower.
Overall a great bang for your buck. It can be a bit boomy; so placement and leveling are key. Not as smooth as my NHT sub which I prefer for music; but this is my clear choice for home theater. I'm already a Klipsch fan, I have pieced together a RF-52 II system that I really like for home theater, so the sub compliments it nicely.
You will need to do a close inspection when you receive it; mine, as well as several others I've read about; had their speaker grills broken upon arrival. Newegg was good about a replacement but it was a hassle.
thumbs up!

Tech Level: Average
Ownership: more than 1 year
1 out of 5 eggs
Pros: It is a clear sounding powerful sub
Cons: amplifier can not handle being plugged in for extended periods of time
Other Thoughts: Giving this item 1 egg because of the amplifier. The amplifier dies if you don't unplug it after each use. This is what klipsch told me. The heat from the power expands the wires on the connections. After its unplugged, they cool down and shrink never to be played again. It does have an auto power cutoff, but its not for the amp. Its a 240$ fix minus shipping costs. Because of this I no longer will buy klipsch products. Could be why this sub is priced 700$ below retail.
Most audio people will tell you to put the subs together, preferably stacked together.

I learned about all this with my old 6-10" car setup. I used a Clarion EQ to boost the voltage to 6.5V going to the Sub amps. HUUUUGE difference. I only had to have the amps at 1/3 gain, compared to nearly 3/4 gain before.
Sorry if I don;t make too much sense. Too many drinks. :'D
