Wow, I'm not even that old and find it amazing how cheap these are. Just think back to the late 90s, the internet was pretty new, and everyone was using it on slow dialup connections, from gigantic, expensive, desktop PCs. Now you can buy what's basically a hand sized computer that's better in every way that those old computers for $130...

People kept asking the same questions, so I'm going to just give my opinion to them here.

Tablet vs Touch: It's really about portability. You can bring the Touch with you everywhere. It will fit in your pocket. I like to go for walks and listen to music/podcasts from an iPhone while I'm doing this. You would not want to use a tablet for this. If you're only going to be using the device at home, a tablet is the way to go. Yes, the screen size makes the tablet a much better experience.

Size: 8GB is too small. You really only have 6.5GB of free space on it. It will fill up very quickly. Of course if you only plan on using the built in apps to browse the web, check your email, etc., it's fine. If you want to store music and photos on it, you'll want more space. Don't even think about videos on the 8GB one.

I went with touch simply because there are more educational apps on itunes vs. Google Play. I'm considering adding a Nexus to our family arsenal of electronics. Would consider the mini, if its processor wasn't slower, etc.

Portability is also a big factor. I'm OK with letting DS7 be responsible for a touch (like his DS), but a tablet feels bigger/harder to stuff in a backpack/etc.

How exactly is it inferior? THey're the same size and resolution retina screen on both the 4th gen touch and iphone 4/4S...
EDIT: Found a number of reports online about the screens being different, but no one seems to know how. Could just be something like cheaper backlighting or some other details that make the iphone better. Seems odd they'd have two different retina displays with the same resolution and size for the same generation Apple devices.

Old coupon from few weeks ago, same with refurb iPad thread. Only changed it no longer works on iPads but still able apply on iPods.

Its a different type of LCD. I have booth, and the Ipod is not as nice as the iphone screen. The sensitivity is also slightly different.

also, i have to add.... The cam on the 4th gen is really really bad. You can only take decent pics outside in bright light. I am trading mine in for the 5th gen. But these refurbs are super deals and great for the price.

anyone know why/how Apple has so many refurbs? Surprised they're not sold out by now.

I have had the 64GB itouch for a couple of years now and its still going strong. I dock it to a bose system and listen to radio apps, pandora, and spotify and it really sounds nice. The battery life is excellent too.

Im stuck between the Nexus 4 or Nokia 920.
