I just picked up a basic HP 1000 printer from walmart for $30. Didn't need all the scan, copy, & fax functions.

Benefits of the HP 1000, inexpensive ink, can print with just the black cartridge in the unit. Some of these all and one printers don't allow you to print if any of the colors are empty.

Read the reviews on this printer and they say it sucks ink very fast.

Printer deals are always around...research the price of ink before you buy.

I have an hp officejet j4680.(i paid 60) I refill it with 3 ml of black ink... it all drains out. It prints 10 or so pages before drying out and leaving half the lines of text "empty". The cartridge is hp 901 black. The 901 black cartridge doesn't even have complete ink sponge. It has 1/3 an ink sponge.
