It's great. I bought this one 4 years ago, still running strong and has seen quite some usage. Still on original battery too !

Not to TC, but Home Depot has the Ryobi 18v with a 1/2" chuck for $30 starting BF.

I've had the older version of this 19.2v drill for over 5 years now. The only problem I've had is with the forward/reverse switch... if you push it too far either way, the drill doesn't turn. It's not a huge deal, only started happening a year or so ago, and is easily avoidable. Also considering how much I've used it, it's been an awesome drill.

I'm torn between grabbing another just to have a newer one without the switch issue, and keeping my old one for a backup.

I have this and the impact version. Great medium duty drills, but in either case I would strongly recommend getting one of these for day to day projects. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decke...and+decker

You hear correctly.

I have a model similar to this one, the 315.116400 that I got about 7 years ago or so. It's the same torque as this one, clocking in at 125 in-lb. Let me tell you, it's not enough.

My ~14 year old 973.114170 cordless drill-driver that I love much, much more than this one clocks in at 400 in-lb. I really would not recommend anything under this torque value.

650 RPMs and 125 in./lbs torque?? Am I missing something here. That's like harbor freight territory.

I've got the same one as you with the lower torque. It's fine for almost everything a homeowner is going to do. I wouldn't build a deck with it, but for the price, this is pretty slick.

What is really nice with this deal is the 1 hour charger. The BF deals come with a slow trickle charger. You can see the difference in chargers here.

I bought this driver two years ago, and I love it.

The best part is I can charge the battery, let it sit in the closet for 6 months and it's still got plenty of juice. i believe it uses the older nicad batteries which don't lose a charge like lithium ion batteries do.

1. I had exactly the same opinion.....until I bought a cordless drill/driver.
2. I doubt that you will see any deal on corded drills on BF, just like you probably won't see any deals on corded phones, either.
