Panasonic VIERA TC-P50U50 50-Inch 1080p Full HD Plasma TV just dropped to $599.99 on Amazon. It's usually priced at more than $650 I think. This is my 1st post, so I hope I didn't mess up. There's an old thread about this TV in "Deal Talks", but if you are like me, then you probably never go to there. So I thought I would start a new thread here.

Why would a plasma have lag? That's an LCD thing. Panny plasmas have a game mode even. I play games on my '08 Panny plasma all the time, there's NO lag.

Only LCDs lag. Plasma don't and if you need more HDMI ports get a hdmi switchbox from monoprice for cheap

In terms of picture quality, Plasma still better right? the down sides are that they don't last as long and use more power?

I wished that Amazon do not charge sale tax in California. Tax kills a lot of deals from Amazon, at least to me. CA gov is ripping consumer off.

Tell me. If only LCD's lag then why would this TV even have a game mode? And why are the MLG pros using LED computer monitors? Hmmm?

Lot's of misinformation is being posted here. If you think input lag is only for LCD's then you probably aren't that serious about games anyway. Look it up.

Slugbom, your the only one spouting misinformation, samijubal and banditking are correct, plasma's do not lag, there is image retention in plasma's but thats not the same thing as lag.

The Sam's Club model is TC-50PU54, the Best Buy model is TC-P50U50. Technically, they are the same TV but Best Buy may refuse to PM. My Best Buy did not PM since they gave me the same excuse, model number not available on online.

Since I knew the two model numbers were different, I didn't pursue it any further. However, YMMV.

Just got mine today! Picture quality is BEAUTIFUL with blu-ray films. Still tweaking for gaming, but looks awesome regardless. Good buy! No lag while playing games either haha. Don't know where that rumor came from. In game mode or not. You don't even HAVE to use game mode. It is just some screen color/sharpness tweaking presets.
