Panasonic VIERA TC-P50U50 50-Inch 1080p Full HD Plasma TV just dropped to $599.99 on Amazon. It's usually priced at more than $650 I think. This is my 1st post, so I hope I didn't mess up. There's an old thread about this TV in "Deal Talks", but if you are like me, then you probably never go to there. So I thought I would start a new thread here.

Yup. I bought my 42 inch Panasonic plasma a couple years ago after weeks of research. Plasmas have superior picture quality along with no motion blur.
For this Plasma I will do HDMI video card to Receiver then HDMI Receiver to HDMI Plasma. Full HD, better than using a dvd player.
THX mode: a method of certification for color accuracy. A lot of movies use it so with a THX certified TV, you "see the movie the way filmmakers meant it to be seen." It costs money to have a product line THX certified so there are TVs that have pretty accurate colors but don't have THX certification (I don't know enough about the UT50 to comment on color accuracy).
Get it while you can!

I read a post on AVS forums website, and found a free legitimate download for tuning tv's. There are actually quite a few good ones. It's quite simple, download the file, burn to DVD, calibrate! Really made a huge difference in watching Boardwalk Empire
