I just got the price match done with no questions asked, not even a flyer or website was checked. Let alone the fact that I'm not even a member. Thanks to the one who mentioned the lower price @ Sams Club + price match. I missed the Amazon deal as well and got a better deal now!

I got it from Wal-Mart, which means I have 90 days to return the set, open box or no (it's definitely open). I am, however, sorely tempted by this Panny. I understand that plasma TVs perform better on black levels and motion performance, but the extent to which they perform better in a *noticeable* way is still unclear to me. I'm a movie geek, but not a videophile. I don't analyze an image the way HD geeks do. David Katzmaier [cnet.com] I ain't!

So the question is this: should I return my current set and nab this Panny instead? It would mean paying $50 more up front and up to 3x more in energy costs annually.

Apologies to the haters. Posts like this one are annoying, but then so is opportunity paralysis and/or buyer's remorse.

Bought 1, thanks! this thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1410013...st22008502 really put me over the top in buying it, love having a popular avsforum tv, always tons of picture settings to try. Was really helpful with my last tv (samsung ln46a630). Also while browsing it one user did a compare of all the various panasonic models, and this tv for this price is realllly close to the top end models picture quality which goes for $2k+.

There are many reasons for wanting built in wifi, but I actually prefer most parts not have built in wireless and tend to use wireless ethernet bridges(plus a switch) if needed. Trendnet makes some affordable models. Asus(ea-n66) has a model with 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz wifi which is nice. You could also use something like a asus n-16 or even something more advanced if you require. It then allows you to consider models which might save you money over those with wifi as they tend to be heavily discounted. You can easily upgrade your network to new standards. The main negative is the extra networking cables.

Will this play .AVI and .MKV files/videos off a USB stick plugged in?
Or are those only Smart TV's that do that?

Anyone know how this compares to LG 50PA6500 ? The LG Is only $50 more on amazon, has 3 HDMI, better contrast ratio,refresh rate and Amazon ratings are better. CNET gave it a marginal review though.
