Panasonic VIERA TC-P50U50 50-Inch 1080p Full HD Plasma TV just dropped to $599.99 on Amazon. It's usually priced at more than $650 I think. This is my 1st post, so I hope I didn't mess up. There's an old thread about this TV in "Deal Talks", but if you are like me, then you probably never go to there. So I thought I would start a new thread here.

Here's the gist: I bought the 50" Toshiba LED advertised in this SD post: http://www.slickdeals.net/f/53764...pc-monitor
I got it from Wal-Mart, which means I have 90 days to return the set, open box or no (it's definitely open). I am, however, sorely tempted by this Panny. I understand that plasma TVs perform better on black levels and motion performance, but the extent to which they perform better in a *noticeable* way is still unclear to me. I'm a movie geek, but not a videophile. I don't analyze an image the way HD geeks do. David Katzmaier [cnet.com] I ain't!
So the question is this: should I return my current set and nab this Panny instead? It would mean paying $50 more up front and up to 3x more in energy costs annually.
Apologies to the haters. Posts like this one are annoying, but then so is opportunity paralysis and/or buyer's remorse.
Since it doesnt have build in Wifi I am refraining myself.
If its VT or GT model then I would jump.
I guess I will have to wait BF for a deal on either model to come on some deal.
But if you are not looking for build in wifi then this is best TV, Plasma + Panasonic, they are beating LED TV's now.
Or are those only Smart TV's that do that?
Thanks.
