Should you be approved, you can call this number: 800-436-7927. It is automated and select the option to check your credit card application status (don't select the one that says "check on existing account." When prompted, you'll be asked to enter your nine digit SS number. It will tell you your Credit balance/limit/interest rate (in that order).

It's gotten to a point where I routinely delete e-mails like this from SW and only pay attention to the ones about discount ticket fares.
