The only thing I regret about this card is the $3200 that im slowly paying off
Now I am not saying we should pay annual fees. I have never paid an annual fee in my life nor ever plan to do so.
And saying, oh, the annual fee was less... the spend requirement was less before... so? Evaluate the deal on its face _now_.
Don't want or need to fly where SW flies? Then obviously this is not a slick deal for you!
With that said, I've found flights this year *on all airlines* much more expensive than in previous years. You should really compare the SW cost for the flight against other airlines' flight prices. And, again, as I noted above... even if SW prices were to be crazily DOUBLE what others charge, you're still getting more than a quadruple return on your investment ($99).

This year is just as good but there is spend requirement of $2000 which I could easily achieve as I need to replace my floor with wood flooring.
_Get 6,000 points every year after your Cardmember Anniversary - that's enough for a $100 Wanna Get Away? Fare!
_2 points per $1 Spent on Southwest Airlines and AirTran® Airways purchases made directly with the airlines and on Rapid Rewards Hotel and Car Rental purchases.
_1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

I would have preferred the Chase Ink Bold Charge Card 50,000 point signup bonus 50,000 points after $5000 in spend within three months, fee waived the first year. It earns quintuple points on wireless/telecommunications services, cable and satellite TV and radio, and office supply stores and double points on hotels, gas stations, and with travel agencies, up to 200,000 points per year. I could have achieved the $5000 minimum spend but they raised it to $10,000...Yikes! Bad move Chase!

It says I was approved for the southwest credit card. Does that mean I could still be denied the "premium" card and just get the Visa platinum instead? I'm guessing that would not include the miles so really don't want that :/
Thanks for your help and thanks OP!
