THIS IS THE PRICE I PAID IN 2001 when they came out...
I currently own these and also the logitech z623, i would highly recommend the logitech over these, the mids and treble are about the same, but the subwoofer can handle so much more and sound cleaner on the logitech. Plus the lack of a power switch on the klipsch was a downfall for me.

too bad logitech discontinued them and replaced them with more expensive and less stellar models.
I own the Z-2300 and the Klipsch 2.1 pro media, and I can definitely notice the difference.
The build quality seems excellent to me, just make sure you're careful with the wires that are connected to the subwoofer.
