I found a Samsung with the exact same specs (sans win 8) for $279 at BB. Clearance store by store and ymmv as many stores are still $329.
model: NP300E5A (-A05US). Just NP300E5A to search BB.com for which stores in your area have them, and then check online for each stores clearance online for the correct price at those stores.

NP300E5A (-A05US) seems to be 2nd gen i3. The laptop in this thread is 3rd gen i5.

This seems similar to the Acer at microsoft store earlier for $400. Just a bit less ram and HDD.

For $399 + 25 GC, this seems almost as good. Maybe better depending on which laptop model you prefer. That Acer though is thin.
