This Kindle Fire does not come with a charger. If you want the Kindle PowerFast charger, I suggest buying it at the same time as the Kindle Fire, as it will only cost $10. If you wait and buy it separate it will cost $20. This charger puts out 1.8A which will charge the tablet as fast as possible. Also note that some lower quality USB chargers may interfere with the touchscreen while it is charging.
Note: For those interested in running pure Android or using the Google Play store, note that while this new Kindle Fire can be "rooted", you CANNOT install custom ROMs on it yet. This may or may not happen in the future, but until then you're stuck with the Android 4.0 ICS "skin" that is the Kindle OS.
