ugh, debating whether I need all this paper or not. would be nice to have some 8x10s on hand, but I still have tons of 4x6s and 5x7s from a couple of years ago when they had this promotion.

This will go well with the Canon PIXMA MX892 deal I got last week. Hopefully ink is cheap from 3rd party. Saved $350 on photo paper with this deal! Awesome.

Awesome! My GF already got the T3i for her birthday, and the 55-200mm lens for our anniversary - giving her the Pixma Pro II (or whatever it is) for x-mas, now along with this paper!
Camera deal: ~$1300 of merchandise for $600
Paper deal: $70 for $450 worth of paper

Total: almost $600 per gift per event for $220 each out of pocket. Her new hobby will hold her off from wanting the ring for a bit.

Check amazon for the aftermarket cartidges. I'm not a pro (or even close), but the quality is pretty good with the refills/aftermarkets you can buy there - I've only had one bad cartridge out of 20+ used, and I've saved probably $200 in all on those.

Don't count on it, if you treat her as well as you spend on her she might want to lock you up quick. I'd check how many of her photos include engagement rings or weddings...

I did that once and the quality of the ink was sub-par to original Canon ink, especially for picture prints. More importantly, the ink started to bleed at the cartridge level and ended up messing up the printer. Fortunately, the printer was cheap. For Mark Pro II, I am not sure if want to risk that. Besides, you probably already spent a fortune on your camera, lens, monitor, calibration kits, and your printer and paper. The last thing you'd want to do is print with sub-par ink with less than stellar reproduction of your pictures Your picture will look as good as your weakest link. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to save $$, but you'd need to weigh cost vs. quality and how much you're willing to sacrifice. Ahhh... the balancing act.
