I have shortish hair but it is VERY thick and stubborn. I am currently using a chi and it doesn't get hot enough to make a differance. I know I probably don't need this width but am thinking it may cover more area and take less time. Thoughts?

Right now I have begun using the instyler 3/4" but it gets VERY hot and I have had numerous burns.

BTW, waht is a good heat protectant to use?

Does anyone know how the warranty works? Amazon reviews say that it shorts out after a couple of months. I just want to make sure I can make use of the warranty if needed. TIA

I don't know how it actually works, but my receipt told me that my order included a "free gift" of a 2 year warranty worth $14.95. Since I am replacing an expensive Chi that died in 1 1/2 years I am hoping this will last longer or at least be replaced if it dies during the warranty period.

Also I have seen a few complaints (no first hand experience though) that the Amazon vendors for Chi are not "authorized resellers" and thus warranties are invalid. Folica apparently is authorized for Chi, and by extension I would presume for Sedu as well, thus warranty service should be honored. Hopefully I won't have to find out the answers to any of these questions though!

Has anyone actually owned this sedu? I've been reading a ton of reviews and it seems that the way they have the cord wired into the actual unit is sometimes faulty and for many people the unit fails to power-up or stay working.

Comes with 2 year warranty included. Seems like a real good deal with the free pouch. My wife has never used Sedu but has been dying for a new Flat Iron. Will bite and see if she likes.

I have both owned this iron and had to use Folica's warranty program. First, I thought the iron worked great, heated evenly and did a pretty good job of straightening my hair. Very comparable to CHI in my opinion. Blew away any drugstore flat iron. Never snagged my hair either. For this price, you could try it and either return it or place on Ebay. I changed my my iron to Solia due to the "floating plates" due to my extremely curly hair. Secondly, I purchased a blow dryer that after a year I thought was smelling a bit warm. Very simple - called Folica, returned the dryer and sent me a new one. Couldn't be happier. I have this flat iron and I LOVE IT!! I have had to send it back due to a faulty cord. Folica's warranty coverage was great, I sent my flat iron in and had a replacement in about a week. FYI, it did cost $10 for a processing fee.

Any slick folica hair dryer deals? I got the sedu flat iron from the last slick deal and love it!
