Not the greatest phone, but you can use it as an mp3, just put it in airplane mode. You can also use the Wifi without being a VM customer.

The LG Optimus Slider Prepaid Smartphone (and Venture) allows you to remain on the $25/mo grandfathered plan.
(You must already have the $25/mo grandfathered plan. Does not apply to new activations or those already on a $35/mo and up plan)

For those wondering, these are CDMA phones. They won't work on GSM networks like AT&T, T-Mobile, or most companies abroad.

Alternate ROMs/Firmware for Venture

There is a great Venture ROM on androidforums.com done by "Curtis1973". He basically did a barebones ICS-themed ROM that apparently removes all of the "bloat" (to free up a lot of internal storage), and also reportedly improves battery life a bit. In general, there is a lot of good Venture activity & discussion in this forum.

nope. sprint maintains a device white list. your virgin mobile phone wont be on it and they will not activate.

keeping as a backup! too cheap to pass up.

if you think about it, even the goodies are worth it. quality USB cable/USB charger, 2GB SD card, MP3/youtube player. free shipping?
