UPDATE: 12/5/12 - Got a phone call from the freight company today. They will deliver the playset on 12/6/12. Pretty darn fast shipping considering the box weighs 385 lbs.
$499 + Free Shipping is a heck of a good price for a playset with this feature set. I have been shopping playsets for about 6 months and this is the best deal I have seen. This playset has 5 reviews on Home Depot, all of which are 5 stars. Costco currently has this marked down to $599.

See the specifications and you'll find out that the entire set weighs almost 400 pounds and about 12 foot square. It recommends that you have a few feet on either direction so plan on 18 foot square. This will take up a good bit of space in your backyard so make sure you have the space. It is best to put down rubber mulch as cushioning. Watch out because this stuff will probably cost as much if not more than the play pen itself!
I think he got this last year for ~$900 at Costco, so this is a great deal!
EDIT: Actually I think this was the one he got last year:http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/w...L18iGG8Yk5
The picture is deceiving. I purchased a similar set in 2003 from Gorilla for $1000 (2 Swings, playhouse, picnic table underneath, and ladder in front (the ladder was next to the slide, on the same side)) and it survived Hurricane Ike, and lasted my children from age 2 to 10 and 0 to 8.
I tightened the screws yearly and had to have it restained once. The company's support was excellent (had to replace the vinyl top after Ike).
It takes the whole day to put up and make sure that the ground is flat where you are going to put it.
Had to leave it once we moved, it is a permanent structure in that it can't be taken apart.
While a bit small, these units can take a serious beating. Once my kids outgrew one, we upgraded to a much larger unit. The one we currently have ran use about $2300......this is a steal.
Wood or metal (playset)??
