bottom line for buying this player, I can get all the music I want from Rhapsody for $15 mo and that single account can support 3 of these devices. For me and my wife and kids it's a no brainer. THAT KICKS iTunes to the curb people.

I bought this from Newegg in the deal a week or two ago to replace my ancient Sansa that was stolen out of my truck... I like it so much, I just bought another with this deal as a spare! I am a carpenter and I use it at work, so I know I will end up breaking it or losing it or something. For this price, its worth it to have a spare. By the way, Rockbox is awesome! I have barely even used it yet but its SO much better then the stock software. Too bad this deal wasn't going on before the 5 off 25 credits expired last night...I ended up using mine on the Bourne Trilogy Blu Ray Set...but this would have been nice with a small filler! Repped OP!

15 bucks a month?

That's 180 bucks a year. I can buy From Amazon and Itunes and get 30 albums for that.

It's not a hack... it's an enhancement. If you don't want to play AAC or FLAC on one of the better audio processors in this form factor, then go spend more money for something else.

FLAC works natively, AAC doesn't. FLAC was added back with the Clip thru a flash update, the Clip+ and Zip ship with it.

Why is it junk? It's super cheap, small, known for great sound quality, and tried and true. Can't go wrong with it.

With the mp3 market shrinking, we're not seeing as many dedicated mp3 players being released each year.

Decent player I bought a few months back as a gift b/c it had a removable Micro SD slot. It plays FLAC with the stock software. I never did any upgrades before giving it as a gift (other than loading the songs) so I can only confirm FLAC and MP3 formats.

I think your taking about the fuze+ not the clip zip .... I still own the original fuze and it was much better than the newer fuze+ with touch screen. Got rid of that one fast...

This is the best mp3 player I've ever had. I can use my cell phone if I want videos or photos or whatever, I love the fact that this just plays music and is compact and sturdy enough to take to the gym or on a run and not have to worry about dropping it. I love the microSD expansion and the sound quality is amazing. The only drawback I can think of is that is has to rebuild it's database every time a microSD is inserted, even if no changes are made on the card. If you leave the card in this isn't an issue, it's only a one time thing.
