Seriously, there are really no improvements in these cheapo cameras from a half decent lower megapixel cameras made a few years back. I brought a 8mp canon sx100is and the picture quality is just as good or better than the 14-16mp cameras. Heck, my old canon a495is takes excellent pictures also.

If you really need a camera, buy this, otherwise, buy a camera with a Backside illuminated sensor or an entry level SLR instead.

Can anyone compare with Canon ELPH 110HS? I was thinking on buying that one.

Can anyone tell me what an appropriate, cheap memory card would be for this camera (perhaps holding something like 2000 pics), and where a good place to buy one would be? Thanks.

Low light performance was REALLY bad. I had to buy this without doing any research as I left all my cameras at home while travelling out of the country and was disappointed. Too much noise and smudged look in low light. It's a deal at this price, but you have to weigh memories vs price.

Specs look nearly identical to the Canon A1300 I bought from Target on BF @ $59.99 ($65 after tax), except the A1300 appears to be a little larger and has optical viewfinder in addition to LCD. Any compelling reasons to return the A1300 and pickup this one instead?

grab a cheap elph 300 and perform better than this with 1080p, that's the best one for under 100$

megapixel is not an issue here, it's the iso level really low plus slow aperture is killing the deal

All pretty much true. Physics dictates tiny sensor collects tiny amounts of light. Larger sensors collect more light...and are priced accordingly. $200+ for a larger sensor P&S and $400+ for a DSLR.

Extra megapixels MAY help in bright light, but are otherwise useless.

A better question is...will this be much better than your cell phone? Especially since it's not wifi connected. If a compact camera can't send photos out instantly, or go underwater, it's not worth much to me.

But this might be good for my kids...

For $70....it's not much to lose.

And the Image stabilization is different. What does it mean to have Optical as an Image stabilization?
