Best bang for the buck. Sure there are better products out there but the price will vary accordingly. You need to know what your purpose of use is and buy accordingly. For most people, this does the job of monitoring the house, catching the people breaking into their cars, the people who don't pick up after their animals, baby monitoring, remote monitoring etc. Now, whether any of these images or recordings will hold up in court, that's a question for a "layiar".
Obviously I didnt know the return policy of HD. full refund on returns with no restocking fee sounds darn good to me
Love these cams , get the foscam pro app for the iphone and its even sweeter...
for example:
http://www.foscam.com/down3.aspx
but i see no mention of the lens difference between white and black .
Looks like foscam update the both model to have the 2.8mm lens
http://foscam.com/prd_view.aspx?id=99
my old black model has the 3.6mm
For the uber geeks, my current set up to avoid the dual setup issue on IP Cam Viewer: I have nignx setup as a reverse proxy on my router that is running dd-wrt with a free ddns service. Nginx is configured to for url rewriting so that xxx.freeddns.org/ipcamX is reverse proxied to the static internal ip address for camera X (say ipcamX). Internal lan accesses xxx.freeddns.org is sent to the nginx which dutifully redirects to the proper location with the dnsmasq option address=/xxx.freeddns.org/192.168.1.1
Yeah, you can call this overkill, but I already had the reverse proxy setup and running for something else.
Is there a website that provides services like that?
I believed vitamindinc.com does. Free for the first camera.
3 black, 2 white. The 1 black I bought a month ago has the old firmware, but can be updated to newer firmware. As far as the 2 black and 2 white ones I bought on the Amazon lightning sale, there are NO differences that I can tell. Everything works the same, firmware, hardware, etc.
These are absolutely fantastic. Who cares about "fake reviews" on Amazon. As far as I can tell they are probably real, posted from somewhat untechnical people who got help from Foscam tech support and are overwhelmingly happy to get the support to get the cameras working.
I spent 10 minutes setting each one up. Setting up is a bit of a pain because when you make a settings change the camera reboots taking 30 seconds. That's a one time thing - once it's set up, it works flawlessly.
The clarity is amazing, and the ability to move the camera is cool. I am buying 5 more through this deal. I love these things.
I use IP Cam Viewer Lite on Android (free, works perfect), and Cam Viewer (free) on iOS to view. Flawless.
Note: if you're too stupid or lazy to learn about IP addresses, dynamic DNS (I use no-ip), port forwarding, DO NOT buy this and end up complaining. If you buy any way, hire someone smarter to install these for you!!
When I am home I can use the laptop to see all the camera but I have wireless router with cox internet provider.
Thanks,
The wire that runs to the camera to the plug is it long?
"Talk and listen with integrated two-way audio
Built-in speaker and mic
Listen and respond to what is going on while you watch. Foscam's built-in speaker and mic allow you to keep in touch without the need for a telephone or computer. Take video conference calling and remote baby monitoring to the next level."
In for 2 then. I need a way to correct our dog when we are out of the house since that is the only time she chews on things (shoes, boxes, etc.)
Thanks OP!
Also, are there ways to control when email/message alerts are sent to you besides the calendar schedule? Say a switch you can flip when going to bed/leaving the house?
good cam for the money
I use TinyCam Pro on 3 android devices including the Nexus 7 and they all work great. The phone version works fine over the air, but it is dependent (obviously) on your data signal. I'm on Sprint 3G around here so I don't expect much, but with a good 4G signal it is probably close to Wifi.
Also, you can use phone/PC browsers as well through dynamic DNS, though all the features may not work.
Entered my dyndns info and it worked perfectly. Happy to have this when I'm really on the go. Otherwise, the web login via Chrome works perfectly also.
What AMex card do you have? blue or cash?
