Yeah....I normally get these through ebay and pay about 75 bucks...with home depot tax I only save about 6 or 7 bucks...just bought one more....

if you are going to put them outside they need to be in some kind of enclosure like a dome or wide mouthed jar. if you put this outside as-is sooner or later the elements and/or bugs will damage it and that is not covered under the warranty.

also, the night vision IR will not work behind a window or enclosure, the IR will reflect back into the lens. you get a cheap IR lights from ebay and put them outside and keep the cam inside of a window.

$69.10 after tax here in CT... I was able to pick two up from the amazon deal for $62.99.. I was thinking of getting a third, but I'll let someone else get in on this deal and install the other two first to make sure I like them

they are decent cams, but dont be expecting the same result as a $300 security cam.

That, I understand. One is going to be used for the nursery and a second for our enclosed porch (mostly where we receive our UPS/FedEx deliveries.. I was thinking about a third to cover our front door which we NEVER use, except to receive deliveries from substitute drivers and to greet Jehovah Witnesses

since the porch is enclosed if you put the cam up in the furthest corner from the path you might be able to get away w/o using an enclosure, but the bugs are still going to mess with it.

then get ready to see just how the carrier services really handle your packages!

while the fedex guy has caught onto the camera and walks my packages all the way up to the inside corner of the porch, as for the UPS guy he is still bowling my packages from the sidewalk. so far nothing has been broken, but as soon as something does i have the proof of how it got broke.

Not to TC but just be aware there are a ton of counterfiet Foscams out there. Google it. Just call Foscam and have them check your serial # once you receive I have caught one before I installed by doing this and sent it back.

Check out Icam. You can record on movement and have the folder save to Dropbox!

I got this cam from Amazon earlier and it was pretty easy to set up if you are somewhat savvy with computers. The video in the root directory of the CD install had a video with a semi-decent english speaker that provides a fairly concise method of installing almost every option.

I personally went with the mail alert way instead of installing an app or FTP. Problem was gmail kept blocking my SMTP send access due to suspected spam, I got around it by sending the mail to myself and filtering it to a folder and lowering the motion sensitivity.

Overall semi-satisfied with it.

70.15 after tax in CA...I'll give one a try.

Anyone know how much bandwidth these typically use?
