what are you talking about? 18-200vr2 is a great lenses and is easily worth 500$. The body is going to be replaced soon so the deal overall is not so great.

What comparable Canon model is this Nikon? Not very familiar with the Nikon's hierarchy. Thanks!

It's worth $600 on Ebay easily new. Makes this a sweet deal.

I'd sell it personally. If you have other lenses and just use the 18-200 for travel, fine, but as a primary lens it's a waste of the D7000's abilities.

I disagree - we don't know what will replace it, and it's very likely to be a more expensive model. So fine, if you want to pass on an $800 D7000 and wait for a $1500 D8000 and pay retail for that, go for it.

I can't imagine what I'd want in a D7000 replacement that it doesn't have. Don't want more pixels, doubt you'll see greatly improved dynamic range or iso. Everyone was excited about the D600 when it was supposed to be $1500, but it debuted at $2000.

Well said. When D7000 came out, it was selling for $500-600 more than the current price. With the price of it coming down, the value only increases. But some idiots will tell you not to buy it, because a newer model, (that was not even announced yet), is coming out.
When it is released I will be looking at the value, not the price. And which one of bodies gives me more bang for the buck.

I think the newer version says VR II in red? Those are probably the 1st gen version.

I'd buy the first gen, they're basically the same. But the resale is definitely higher on 2nd gen.

That was a REALLY good deal. I bought it for $996, then returned everything except the camera, bringing the price for the camera+18-105 to $835. From which I get 5% from discover, and 2% from amazon, bringing it to about $770. Then sold off the lens on ebay for $299, and my old D90 for $499, and effectively got an upgrade from the D90 to the D7000 for about $25 in ebay fees.

But, not available anymore.
