Ace Hardware has a selection of Stanley tools for $6.99, as listed below. This $5 mail-in rebate [imageg.net]cuts them to $1.99. Choose free ship-to-store pickup to avoid the $8.73 shipping charge. Rebate ends December 31.
The tools, each $1.99 after rebate:
10-Piece Screwdriver Set [acehardware.com]
Knife Blades 50-Pack [acehardware.com]
3-Piece Wood Chisel Set [acehardware.com]
Tape Rule [acehardware.com]
Professional Top Read Aluminum Level [acehardware.com]
Utility Knife [acehardware.com]
Note: If you look at the other items on the rebate list, there are some more good deals to be had. If you search SKUs it won't bring up the item, but a local ad scan with nothing on the scan linking to anything. It just says in-store only. They do show the prices however.

AFAIK, If you have the cashier enter your rewards card number, then you can do the rebates online. Much easier.
Rebate same as previous thread.

If done it already, you must use a different addy
If you are ordering online for in-store pickup, it's better to call the store to order rather than order online. The store gets credit for the sale and may already have the items in-stock. Even if they don't participate in the advertising, they will have or can get all of the items at the sale price.
For issues with "Ace SKU not found" rebate status - I called the rebate support line at 1.800.477.4137. Pushed 5 for a human. Told them the issue. Gave her the tracking number and my details. She immediately said that the information will be updated and I will be receiving my rebate in 8-10 business days. So I had no issues. But YMMV.

Lots of people getting postcards that rebate was denied due to "Ace SKU not found" -- chat with customer service to fix this. Have your ACE Rewards number handy, as well as your order info (including the item SKU numbers). Link for ACE customer service chat (note: chat does not work properly in Google Chrome browser):

Mail-in submission is for anyone.
Not sure why, but many online submissions are shown as Invalid.
If you you have that issue, do an online chat session and they will change to Valid with little or no hassle.
But..those screwdrivers are the cheapest pieces of crap I've seen. Any drivers at Harbor Freight would be better quality. A couple of the tips were deformed brand new, and you can feel why, it's like they stamped these out of aluminum foil or something.
I had a totally negative experience and I will not order items or do business with Ace Hardware again.
Here is a brief description of the nightmare:
1. No one could clearly explain where I could obtain a receipt for rebate purposes [NO ONE as in store manager, 5 calls to customer support, corporate headquarters, etc.]. I literally spent several hours attempting to obtain a clear answer. After 4 days, I finally found someone in corporate headquarters that informed me the packing list "should" work.
2. No receipt given, no receipt is ever given when ordering online.
3. Ace Hardware uses dot matrix printers for the packing slip and then expects you to use that as a receipt and even then, they can't guarantee it will work.
4. The quality of the tools was some of the worst quality I have ever seen.
This company was the most incompetent, mentally slow, confused, moronic, company I have ever dealt with and it lead to non-stop frustration.
Last, I am not new to rebates. Last year I filed over $5000 in rebates, this year over $7000, mostly for computer components.
Never, ever again.

Seriously though I have both sets and the HF freebie screwdrivers are the lowest quality out there, I'd feel ripped off if I actually paid for it. That being said, these Stanley screwdrivers aren't great either, the chrome is just plated or painted on but for $2 I won't complain.
The level, box cutter and tape measure are a great deal for $2 after rebate, I also used shopdiscover for an extra 15% cashback.
For those interested, please read the original thread. I along with others had a heck of a time with Ace with missing orders, invalid rebates - Got it all sorted out but it was a hassle.

I completely agree with this review, my experience was similar. The website claimed all the items shipped out two days after I placed the order. The store was supposed to call me when my order came in. Three weeks after I placed my order on a visit to the store I found 1/5 of the items order with the same dot matrix printout for just that item. I picked the set of screwdrivers and submitted my rebate for the same which has been turned down. I also called ace hardware for a refund for the remainder of the items that were not shipped to me. The guy gave me a reference number and promised a refund in 3 days. A week later, still no refund has been posted to my credit card. I also have to call the rebate company and fight about why my rebate is invalid.
I love supporting locally owned and operated stores such as ACE instead of the corporate giants like HD and lowes but after this experience ACE will not have another cent from me.

What's even worse is there is no way to print an itemized online invoice like every other online retailer on the planet. I emailed their Customer Service telling them how absolutely stupid this was and to their credit they at least responded with "We'll forward it to the appropriate team..blah blah". And they resent the order confirmation email which doesn't look like something you'd use for receipt purposes at all.
Tool quality is great though for $2 with one exception. The screwdrivers because I don't think they're worth $2, and especially not worth whatever price they normally sell for.

As the guy I quoted said there is no invoice made available for an online purchase which is downright bizarre.
All is well that ends well I suppose. I certainly won't forget to add my Rewards number on future purchases now...
No struggle whatsoever, no issues. Sorry for those that got caught up, but if these were fresh rebates, I'd have no hesitation on diving in again. I followed directions and things worked out, as they usually tend to with rebate submissions.
