FYI this is the model that's slower than the Extreme and Ultra Series.

It only has ~2200 IOPS for Random 4K Write, compared to the Extreme's ~83000 IOPS.

AKA THIS DRIVE SUCKS! Don't buy it! This hardly offers the performance of a SSD.

I'd say there's not enough data about this particular model to make a confident purchase. Anandtech reviewed a new Sandisk model [anandtech.com] with a Marvell controller and this one seems to be a lower speed version of the same (look at the size of the PCB inside the case, then read the Newegg reviews of this particular model).

ReRAM based on memristor will be the successor to SSDs. I just took a semester-long course on this subject, and prototypes are already out. HP and Hynix are working together to make a commercially available version by the end of 2013. Your business/investor friends may be telling you to dump HP, but some of us in the CEG department are buying HP stock Wink
