This is a good deal for the NEX6. I just bought a similar NEX 6 bundle from Beach Camera before Christmas and have been very happy with it.

All those 3 lens re soft lens and too much distortion, is shame sony doesn't produce sub $500 quality lens unlike Panasonic and Olympus.

Sony Education Store has the Nex-5R BODY with 16mm Lens and Jacket Case for $599.

I just received an awesome deal after calling customer service. I purchased the body with the egift promotion they had which is basically 20% off, for a total of $488 dollars around a week ago. Then I noticed the bundle deal they got going on, so I called CS to see if I can pay the difference between the body and the new bundle to get the 16mm lens and jacket case. They tried to process it for me but wasn't able to so they gave me the lens and case for free! So basically for $488, I got the NEX-5R (body), 16mm lens, and a jacket case (white or black).

So if anyone bought one recently, you can try your luck to see if you can also get the same outcome.

Just received $27 cashback from ShopDiscover even though I paid with my gift cards. Also received $5 cashback for using Capital One for the gift cards. On top of all this, I got a $100 credit for using my Sony Card as my first purchase for my lens+bundle that just got refunded in full today. So the total out of the door cost for me was $368 for a NEX-5R + 16mm lens + jacket case. The jacket case is on ebay right now and would probably sell for a net profit of $30. So not a bad deal for me at all!

i think sensor size is working against them in this regard.

at least they're making more lenses than bodies now.

great deal on the 5R. thats pretty much how much i spent on a 5N and 16mm with the 5N price drop a few months ago.

5N is an awesome cam. im sure 5R is even better from what i've seen.

I am waiting for next version NEX. NEX-5R and NEX-6 add phase auto focus detection that is used in most of dSLRs in addition to the original contrast detection auto focus. However, all the reviews indicated that there is no big improvement in auto focus performance. Its auto focus performance is still much slower than OD-M5, V1 and Panasonic G series.
