Sanford Titanium is the one I've been using since 11th grade. That would be 10+ years ago. I think it combines a narrower, straighter pencil with most of what the phD offers.

The whole papermate vs zebra aside, this isn't even the best price on these on ebay! If you really want papermate, buy the auction for 5 for $5.99 instead [ebay.com]. lol, my have the standards for FP status dropped low these days ...

The bad thing about the virtual world is that, at least in the real world if this person said this "joke" in a crowded room, the deafening silence would be immediate& direct negative feedback. I agree. I have been using the same pair for 7 years now. IMHO, the best pencil I have ever written with.

I used these pencils (and the pens) in college and they were a lot more comfortable than standard-diameter pens or pencils. I have small hands and my hands would hurt a lot less when taking notes for hours every day, so they would definitely be a lot more ergonomic for those with big man-hands as well.

Take notice this is 0.5mm lead. For someone with a heavy hand like myself, I break the tip every time I put the pencil on the paper. I need minimum 0.7mm. Just an fyi

0.5mm lead breaks easily for those who uses heavier stroke, would much prefer 0.7mm

This is for the Papermate PhD, not the PhD Ultra which is newer and doesn't have the rubbery bottom grip. I personally find the PhD Ultra to be better to use, especially when writing for long periods.

PhD? How does a pencil earn a college degree?
