Description This update addresses the following issues : Improved ''''dirty drive'''' write performance.
The only way to do it now is after OS install. You can do it through Windows in the Samsung Magician Software Suite. Just released December 13th. PLEASE NOTE WINDOWS OS ONLY FOR FIRMWARE UPDATE. NO LINUX or MAC.

Warning: Updating the firmware on anything except a Windows based PC is done at your own risk, we only support upgrading firmware from a Windows based PC.
Important: You must load the firmware onto the USB from a Windows based computer.
You may be able to update the firmware on the SSD if your using a x86 based Linux or MAC computer, and you can boot from USB.

Don't believe Samsung's power usage claims. The 830 topped the charts in a recent Anandtech review even though Samsung claimed super low power usage. The 840 uses less than the 830 but nowhere nearly as little as the specs say.
